Brake pedal effort: Maximum input force for service brakes 48 lb (22 kg) considerably lowered than a mechanical braking system.

Parking Brakes: Independent parking brake system, mechanical-operated, lever-applied, manually-adjusted caliper, mounted on transmission output shaft, disc diameter 279.4 mm (11 inches). Ratcheting brake lever with ergonomically-designed handle. Indicator light on dash indicates when parking brake is engaged.

Service Brakes: Oil immersed multi-plate disc brakes located on driveshaft inboard, positive retraction actuated by stepped hydraulic piston, 5-plates each side with nominal facing area of 19.5 in² each side (total surface area of 390 in²).

Axles
Front drive: ITL PD70 pad-mounted rigid planetary axle, Max Trac® four-pinion differential, gearing has specially-shaped spider gears providing torque proportioning. Positive retraction brakes.

Rear steer (standard 2WD): ITL S55 pin-mounted, oscillating axle with integrated reduction gear and sealed tapered roller bearings. Oscillation: 14°
